Niagara Region - Service Fees 2025

Subsidy
Subsidized child care is available through the Niagara Region to families in need. The process to obtain eligibility must be made by the parent/guardian and not by La Boîte à soleil. Subsidized care or a "Purchase of Service" is determined by the Region of Niagara. The Supervisor of the centre and the administration of La Boîte à soleil must receive confirmation of the approved subsidy before accepting the child.
How to apply for the grant from the Niagara Region

- On the site, you will see the eligibility criteria to apply for a grant.
For example: be a resident of Niagara, having a child 12 years or younger,
a financial assessment, etc. - To apply online, click on the link: Apply for Child Care assistance.
- The online application is no guarantee of receiving the grant. Eligibility will be determined during an interview in person at the offices of the Niagara Region.

Hamilton - Service Fees 2025

Subsidy
You will need to complete the Online Application Form to apply for Child Care Subsidy.
To qualify for subsidy, your child care provider must have a contract with the City of Hamilton. For more information about approved child care operators, visit the Child Care Registry.
All applicants must require child care within the next three months to be eligible to submit an application.
Specialized Services
Need translation services? Translation services are offered to best support Hamilton families (upon request).
They also offer services to both our Francophone and Indigenous Communities.
Their French language support worker is also available to deliver services to families and children that speak French.
Families may request services by calling 905-546-4870 or emailing childcare@hamilton.ca.
Next steps after applying
Applicants that are not subject to the waiting list will be contacted to submit required documentation and scheduled an intake appointment to verify their eligibility. Applicants subject to the wait list will be sent a letter confirming waitlist placement. You will be contacted when an opening for the program is available.
It is important to notify their office if you have a change in address or phone number so that they can reach you when an opening for the program is available.
